Предлагаю вам повесть мою.
Как подводная лодка
В бескрайней пустыне
Погибала в воздушном бою.
Как трещала броня, и дела были плохи,
Небо в дыры хлестало как газ;
И глубинные бомбы бездарной эпохи
Разрывались все ближе от нас.
Но для тех, кто придет
В мир, охваченный мглою,
Наша повесть послужит ключом.
Ибо древнее Солнце -
Солнце героев,
Нас коснулось прощальным лучом.
Не печалься, мой друг,
Мы счастливцы с тобою:
В самом пекле бессмысленных лет.
Навсегда уходящее
Солнце героев
Озарило наш поздний рассвет.
И свидетельством истинным,
В Духе и в Сыне,
Мы оставили повесть о том,
Как подводная лодка
В бескрайней пустыне
Отбивалась торпедным огнем.
И пылала обшивка,
И плавились скрепы,
И в расщелины гибельных скал,
Раскаленным дождем
Из-под самого неба
С воем капал горящий металл.

Я помню домик у реки,
Сосновый лес вокруг.
Овраг, в котором тек ручей,
И за рекою луг.
И нас, по целым Божьим дням
Плескавшихся в реке.
И мамин смех, и сосен шум,
И камешки в руке.
Я вновь недавно в те места
Пришел издалека.
Разрушен дом, и лес сгорел,
И высохла река.
Всё было чуждым, как во сне,
Мне кажется с тех пор,
Что жизнь моя приснилась мне
И снится до сих пор.
И значит темная вина,
Лежащая на мне, -
Лишь тень, мелькнувшая на миг
В счастливом детском сне.
И значит, скоро я проснусь
И, выпив молока,
По тропке вниз туда помчусь,
Где плещется река...
5.
Тьма сотрет наши лица и память о нас
Поруганью предаст и разбою.
Не печалься, мы гибнем, кончается бой.
Навсегда уходящему Солнцу, Солнцу героев -
Помаши на прощанье рукой.
Уходящему Солнцу - Великому Солнцу героев -
Помаши на прощанье...

Like a submarine
In the endless desert
She died in an air battle.
How the armor cracked and things were bad,
The sky poured into the holes like gas;
And depth charges of a mediocre era
They were exploding closer and closer to us.
But for those who come
Into a world covered in darkness,
Our story will serve as the key.
For the ancient Sun -
The sun of heroes

I remember a house by the river
Pine forest around.
The ravine in which the stream flowed
And beyond the river there is a meadow.
And us, for all of God's days
Splashing in the river.
And mother's laughter and the noise of the pine trees,
And pebbles in hand.
I recently went to those places again
Came from afar.
The house was destroyed and the forest burned,
And the river dried up.
Everything was alien, like in a dream,
It seems to me since then
That I dreamed about my life
And I still dream about it.
And that means dark guilt,
Lying on me, -
Just a shadow that flashed for a moment
In a happy childhood dream.
And that means I'll wake up soon
And after drinking milk,
I'll rush down the path there,
Where the river splashes...
