Тексты, впрочем, были все из Библии, под некоторой только редакцией Генделя. Anointed Soloman, king "Priest priest" is a liturgical chant written by Handel in 1727 on the occasion of the coronation of George II. The original work used a text from the English-language Bible. This is one of the four coronation antiphons that Handel composed for the new King of England. They were performed at all subsequent British coronation services.
The texts for all four hymns were chosen by the composer himself - to the displeasure of the clergy, who were forced to perform the monarch's anointing on the throne under such terrible songs as they thought. The texts, however, were all from the Bible, under some editorship of Handel. They described the accession to the throne of Judah by King Solomon, about how the priest Sadok anoints, and how the people are very happy about it, so that the earth is scattered about his cries.
Since the time that Handel created the Priest's Prison, 265 years have passed, and in 1992 UEFA ordered Tony Britten to come up with a hymn for the Champions League, which was then created. And the hymn was composed on the basis of the coronation antidote of Handel. His academic choir "St. Martin's in the Fields" (London) performed in three official languages of UEFA, English, German and French, accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
